Bloomsburg Falls to East Stroudsburg in Women's Basketball

BLOOMSBURG - The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team dropped a 58-44 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game to rival East Stroudsburg University on Monday night.

East Stroudsburg (10-11, 4-3 PSAC East) lead by as many as 13 points in the first half, but the Huskies (5-16, 2-5 PSAC East) battled back to a 26-26 tie at the end of the period behind seven points from senior Kelly Burkhart (Sayre/Athens).

The Warriors opened up the second half with a 17-2 run, making the score 43-28 with just over 14 minutes to play in the game. Bloomsburg answered back, scoring the next seven points, cutting the lead to 43-35 with 10 minutes to play but in the end, East Stroudsburg came out on top with the final score 58-44.

Jaclyn Yandrisevits led the Warriors with a game-high 16 points while Maryellen Onofre chipped in 13 for East Stroudsburg.

For Bloomsburg, Burkhart lead the team with 10 points while Gabe Miskinis (Lewistown/Lewistown) added eight and Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West) finished with seven points and seven rebounds.

Bloomsburg will travel to Kutztown on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
